If you are anything like me, you talk about doing a girls trip “wouldn’t it be fun to go wine tasting for the weekend” etc etc. But it never seems to happen. Well let me tell you friends, this past weekend we made it happen and it was such a fabulous weekend. It was 5 girls, Temecula, fabulous wine & food + spa treatments, such a fun time. This would be the perfect bachelorette party idea too!
We checked in Friday afternoon to the South Coast Winery Villas. The great part about staying here was that we were able to walk to dinner both nights, so we never had to drive anywhere!
We were celebrating a girl friend’s birthday so I couldn’t resist but brand the weekend! You like? I designed door signs, pillow cards, and goodie bags filled with water, advil, face masks, chapstick & even a weekend itinerary.
A guided wine tour is really a must. We decided on the Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tours (if you use them, ask for Wally, he was such a great host!) We were able to walk to dinner at South Coast one night, and Ponte the next.
I was really impressed with the Ponte property. We really liked the “Angry Wife” wine there (be sure to ask about how the wine got it’s name). Ponte really took care of us with a private dining room for dinner, and the cellar bar they have at their newly built hotel is gorgeous! We ended our stay with spa treatments at South Coast. From Southern California this was such an easy and inexpensive little getaway. It’s no Napa, but it really was the perfect weekend. Now get out there and plan your girls weekend!
