It’s been a hard couple of weeks. We lost my father in-law and Piper’s beloved Grandpa Lenny. It’s such a hard thing explaining death to a child. But I was completely blown away by her maturity with everything, and even though it’s limited, her understanding of what has been going on. I am so grateful that Piper was able to establish a relationship with Lenny, even though he lived across the country from us. She had regular skype talks with him and we were blessed to be able to take a vacation with the entire family earlier this year. The picture below is one of my favorites from that vacation. He will live in our hearts forever, we love you Lenny.
